Lighting Up the Premises of St. Wenceslaw Church at Zderaz

Our company Wranovsky Crystal is installing new crystal chandeliers, renovating historical crystal unique products but also trying to meet client’s needs in cases, when it is necessary to improve premises with the help of the crystal chandeliers or luminaries. The same case was with the gothic single-nave church in Prague, New Town.

St. Wenceslas Church at Zderaz is favorite pilgrimage place, in first place thanks to its beautiful architectonic construction, its unexampled lines of manual work and last, but not least because of its long history starting in the 14th century. The chancel of the church is exceptionally known for dominating sculpture of crucified Jesus Christ, which is made from larch wood and corresponds with the altar. Our task was to emphasize and highlight the sculpture, especially the symbol of the cross together with the space behind the altar, with the help of more shiny illumination. This should create more spiritual harmony with the visitors of the church.

Lighting of the sculpture of crucified Jesus optically widened the area of the church and deepened spiritual touch of the sacred place. Thanks to the lighting of the back part, breathtaking church premises are shining and evocate feelings of peace and calmness in visitor’s souls.
